www.redhotchillipipers.co.uk Paul of MCLEAN SCOTLAND has seen the Chilli's many times most recently at the gathering in Edinburgh in July 09. He also saw them at the west coast whisky festival Inveraray. The pipers also played at Cowal Games in August 09 Aye we were there! It's THE NEW JOCK & ROLL! see Cowal for Chillis movie.  www.bbc.co.uk/scotland/music/worlds/2009

The Peatbog Faeries  Based on the Isle of Skye, have become one of Scotlands best known names in contemporary folk music. They have taken their own individual brand of Scottish tunes to audiences around the world, from Europe, Asia, Africa, America and Australia. Winner of the Scottish Traditional Music Awards ‘Live Band of the Year 2008’. They played  Friday and were brilliant, they and they had the crowd up and dancin. www.peatbog-faeries.com

Superb piper/drummer t shirts, two companies here that work well with t shirts and many other accessories, recommended by us!www.bagpipecovers.com & www.urbanpirate.net

ABOVE; Paul with pal Guinness from Germany. LEFT; Ken from the Grandfather Mountain Highlanders, with Paul at Bridge of Allan 2010. We looked after the band for all their coaching needs while here in Scotland, we have a good laugh with the band and shared many drinks throughout the week in Glasgow, come back anytime guys!

CAN I JUST SAY; for readers not in a band, many think the bands get paid. Well in truth, the bands need to pay for their coaches to get them about and its no cheap, band members DO NOT get paid by the band, they do it because they love to play! away for up to 10 hours JUST FOR FUN! So next time you see pipe bands, please be aware of what they go through to entertain you. Maybe offer to buy pipers or drummers a drink or at least say thanks for coming, nice to see you etc. Now, when you all go to enjoy the Worlds, remember too, the bands from abroad have also paid airfares and accommodation here - for the love of playing!  A story that had to be told; Paul McLean. Plus ... Many bands are charity/non profit making, a donation can help in a big way! Aye some have sponsors, but that is a drop in the ocean they need for a season and equipment. Wee note; any prize money the bands get, goes right into the kitty for travel etc.

DENNY & DUNIPACE BAND the Band.  The band will embark on a wide range of contests in 2010, travelling the length and breadth of the country to compete & entertain. Denny photos We can also arrange the trip to Belfast for the Europeans.
